The woman is posing with direct mode of address and is represented as a sex object. The dominant reading is a woman posing naked with a banner and this is done to grab male readers attention. The signifier is a half naked blonde woman. The connotation could be that 'blondes have more fun' therefore being polysemic as it could also mean that the 'Goal' they are referring to is somewhat sexual.The text is anchored so that it matches the images and like how men like football they'll like looking at women.

The woman is positioned directly in the middle so she's the first thing your eye sees.The shot used is a medium long shot.The font used is white against a contrasting black background so this draws attention and makes it seem more important.The stereotype is a dumb blonde woman and the masthead is bright red to draw attention and typically from a feminst point of view she is represented as a sex object and this demeans women.

Advert: Dior Iconic


The woman posing for the mascara has a direct mode of address which draws the person in especially as the colours are high tech.Her direct mode of address can be seen as some aspect of looking seductive due to her mouth being slightly open.The shot used is a medium close up so the subject matter is focused on her eyelashes.The Dior Logo is at the top right hand corner as people will buy popular brands they know of.As the advert is for mascara the colour theme is a dramatic black and white. They've chosen to write 'ICONIC' in a large font on the bottom left as they're trying to remind people that you will almost be like an icon if you buy their mascara.The text is at the bottom as the last thing they'll remember is how good their product is.

Kuch To Hua Hai



This Bollywood film (2008) set in England is about a love triangle between 2 girls and a guy. The guy is torn between both girls and doesnt know which one to go with as he doesnt want to break their hearts. Day by day his descision gets harder for him as his feeling build up for both.Only one can go down the path with him and which will he choose?

The institution behind the media text is Bollywood, and more specifically Yash Raj Productions and the film genre is romance .Because of this, it is expected that the target audience is teenagers and families, and with good reason, as the family market would find the trailer and moreover the movie itself interesting, as it follows a typical bollywood convention.

A romantic film with a twist at the end
