*The title white girls connotes that the stereotype is white girls are dumb and the two black police officers follow through with the convention and do stupid things throughout the film.
*The makeup and clothes they are dressed in are 1st are police uniform and then they dress up as transvestites and have the blonde hair the fake boobs and dress quite girly and wear makeup.
*The way they girls act in the movie they are screaming and acting like they are feminine powerless girls. They follow the convention of the ‘girly girl’ and act innocent. They hold handbags as props.
*Their facial expression and body language seems uncomfortable as they are trying to disguise themselves as other people. They put on a fake falsetto accent.

*Pans in to create pressure on the person who has to make the choice to who will survive.
*Tracking is used when the carousel is spinning to make the decision who to choose harder
*Low key lighting is used to create a dark atmosphere
*The music is dramatic and build ups and at the end it fades out and the title appears
Editing
*Uses fade and jump cut to next scene quite frequently to make it seem fast paced and build up the tension/montage
*Use flashes
Sound
*Music is parallel with scene
*Has Diegetic Sound: characters panic and dialogue
*Has Non -Diegetic Sound :dramatic music Jigsaws voice
Mise-en-scene
*The props used to signify a horror genre is a old carousel, some machines and a rusty looking fence separating the protagonist and the 6 characters.
*The atmosphere is stereotypically following horror conventions and has a dark lighting this is to make them feel like they are in atmosphere where they feel they are under pressure.
*The characters facial expressions are terrified and they are panicky. Their body language looks like they are in a helpless position and look worried.
*They are styled as ordinary people who are captured and tied to the carousel. There is blood in the scene when the mechanisms are prepared to kill them their makeup is made to look rough and bloody.
*Jigsaws voice on the tape sounds sinister and he is wearing a mask a convention which usually horror films have to hide the identity of the person behind it. And this is how we identify that the person is playing the role of the ‘villain’.
